WhichRemote Send a photo

Universal remotes don’t work on most modern garage doors.

Send a photo of your remote, motor or control box. We’ll work out exactly which system you have and which replacement works with it, and help you set it up.

  • Set-up help included: simple pairing steps for your system
  • We don’t guess. If a photo can’t settle it, we ask for another one

How it works

You don’t need a part number or a frequency. Send a picture and we’ll work it out.

1

Send a photo

Your remote, the motor unit on the ceiling, or the receiver box on the wall. Whatever you can reach.

2

We identify the system

The site reads your photo and shows its best match straight away. We check the model, frequency and code type before we quote. If we’re not certain, we ask for another photo.

3

You pair it in minutes

We send the genuine remote with simple steps for your system. Most pair in a couple of minutes, and we’ll help by email if yours won’t.

Why the £12 universal remote didn’t work

Most garage systems made in roughly the last fifteen years use rolling code. The signal changes every time you press the button, so there’s nothing fixed for a universal remote to copy, however many times you try.

Rolling code vs fixed code, explained

Programming help included

Most remotes that “don’t work” just need pairing. If yours won’t play, email us and we’ll walk you through it. It usually takes about five minutes. An optional Correct Remote Guarantee is available at checkout.
